Did someone forget to tell you about the "manna from heaven" story?

I thought a lot of them were expecting the Second Coming to happen very soon. So for those who make such statements, isn't putting money into a retirement plan displaying a lack of faith?

Anyone with as much as 1 brain cell supports 401K plans. It's called Retirment Reddiness.

Let's see. Perhaps the fact that retired people cannot live on social security and they want to make sure their kids don't end up supporting them? Just cause you are a christian doesn't mean you shouldn't do the responsible thing to take care of your family in the parameters of modern American society.

Because there is nothing wrong with Christians wanting to have money as well as security for the future... It's only a problem when the money corrupts, which it often does.

God gave us brains...so use them. It's better to prepare for your future retirement than to have to depend on the government...there may not be ssi when we get to the age of retirement.
