The problem with these people deciding to commit suicide is that they think death is the end of everything. Actually the life of the soul continues after the destruction of the body, because the soul is eternal. So, death is not a solution to our problems. Especially if death is forced by suicide. Each of us is given by God a certain duration of time in our present bodies. If we interfere with this divine will we’ll be certainly punished by the laws of nature. Usually those who commit suicide are granted the subtle body of a ghost, which is a very troublesome position.
We all have problems and make mistakes during our lifetime. However, suicide is never a proper choice to solve our problems or repent for our mistakes. What we should do is ask who we are and why we are suffering in this world. Then God, Who is within our hearts and is our best friend and well-wisher, will guide us to the real way out of trouble and anxiety. This is certainly wiser than destroying our physical body which is ultimately property of the Lord.

Even though I don't quite have any set religious belief, I still think sometimes that if there is a God, he looks at everything on a case by case basis. I like to think that he judges everyone fairly. He would know exactly what was going on in her head at that very moment. He would know that something in her brain went haywire at that second when she decided to go through with it. I believe that a God would be capable of forgiving anyone no matter what they did. Sometimes I think God may have a 'time out' room where he sends people who need to recover from whatever crazy stuff they did before they can move on. Sort of like the idea of purgatory. I don't believe it's a hellish place of suffering. More like a time of reflection. I think after that would come true forgiveness. Good people make terrible mistakes. I think she'll be fine.

How very sad for you and everyone who loved her including God. Yes, God will forgive any sin except blaspheming the holy spirit or sins committed over and over until there is no forgiveness left for that sin for that person. Unfortunately, the life of the child was also taken and that too is a sad situation. God loves everyone and he holds out his word to comfort and protect us when life seems unbearable but we must learn to trust it and rely on it everyday before that happens so that we will even think to rely on it when things are ugly and out of control. Learn to make God your friend on a daily basis and help others to also do the same. Then, when your friend is resurrected, you may truly be able to tell her that she saved your life and the lives of many others.

Suicide is a serious crime and in Islam the person who commits suicide gets punished. Because your body and your life is a gift from Allah---to get rid of yourself or to become hopeless in your life is a way of being of ungrateful and heedless of your purpose in this life which is to worship Allah! This life is a test for us and we are tested with hardships and difficulties. At such moments we should turn to Allah and seek His Forgiveness, Mercy and patience! Those who are strong and remain patient will have a great reward from Allah. But those who don't and commit suicide will also face Allah. Whatever happens to the person after he/she commits suicide is between that person and Allah. Allah may become merciful to that person because of their one deed or another but we don't know and we can't judge!

I hope i answered you well!

I think the whole point of forgiveness, is to allow a person to continue their lives. Your friend can't do that now...
