Yesterday I asked why so many Evangelical Christians lie about their conversion experiences.

One of the dominate answers was that “everybody lies”.

So if it is okay for Evangelical Christians to lie about their conversion (since everybody does lie about something) why shouldn’t I expect the authors of the Bible to also lie through their teeth too? The nature of the beast hasn’t changed, has it?

Hmmm.. No one is giving a real answer. All I keep hearing is that...

"Well they just didn't."

U people are so LOST!! I decided to try GOD and His WORD and that's how I found that the Bible is TRUTH. HE is REAL and HE wouldn't allow the basis of what HE tells us He is to be a Lie. Also, the writers of the Bible were all sinners; so why would a sinner make up a GOD that will judge them and tell them to stop doing all the disgusting things that we as sinners love doing i.e., sex, partying, drinking, drugs, lust, lyeing, cussing, living reckless., etc. Answer that question.

I don't think they deliberately lied, but there are some portions that may have been misinterpreted or exaggerated. Some of the Bible stories, such as Creation and the Flood, pre-date written language. Therefore, all they had to go by was the spoken word versions of these stories. Anyone who has ever watched children sing playground songs knows how easily oral interepratations can be altered.

For instance, perhaps the Red Sea was at low tide when the Jews crossed it, but by the time the Egyptians got there, it was high tide. Since the Jews were people of faith, they probably said, "This is a miracle done by God's will!" as people of faith often do when they are rescued from a crisis.

Over the years, the story was told and retold, and some parts of the story became distorted over the years. By the time it was finally written down, it had turned into a story of an impossible event- that the waters of the Red Sea actually parted.

There are several fool proof reasons:

1. Spiritual Proof: The Bible itself states that God wrote the Bible through men (II Timothy 3:16-17). God cannot lie; neither can God's Word.

2. Physical Proof: The Bible was written over the course of about two to three thousand years (from Job to Revelation chronologically). The writers never new everyone who wrote these books and sometimes did not know what they were writing about! Prophecies that were written were fulfilled hundreds and even thousand of years in the future, but every prophecy has been or will be fulfilled, which is amazing in itself! The Bible was also written in prisons, houses, different countries, and in different time periods. Each book has a different purpose and specific meaning, and each reflects the personality of the writer. No other book has been sought for elimination as this one, but it still exists, and no other book is perfect as this one.

Through these things we know that the writers did not lie...

First of all, those who wrote the New Testament did NOT even know Jesus Christ. It was written 100+ years after he died.

The best explanation for the bible is this: it is a tool used to keep the illiterate masses in line and content with their poverty so that the rich (the priests) would not have to worry about an uprising.

The Bible was written by 40 different authors over a 2000 year period on 3 different continents by guys ,most of whom never ever heard of each other yet everything they say about God is correct. How could that possibly be?The odds of 3 people today agreeing on the work and nature of God is astronomical.

How do know you they did? Because Almighty God is the Author and He inspired or directed certain individuals to write down and record for our time what has and what will happen. Next stop, Armageddon! Shakey yet?

For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
(2 Peter 1:21)

If it's in the Holy Bible, it is true!

The author of the Old and New Testaments is God. God told men what to write. God even says, "The Scripture cannot be broken." "Heaven and earth may pass away, but not His word."

THINK ABOUT IT - God can create heaven, earth, you and me and cannot control His words in a book. Seems to me like the easiest thing God does.

There were filled with the holy spirit. God was the author but used their abilities and talents to write in their own way.

No one really knows the truth. The truth to one person, however, is not always compatible with the truth of another individual, and thus ensues a fight/ disagreement.
