All the fiber answers and water is quite right! The bleeding concerns me. Most probably it is coming from irritated tissues caused from hard or large stools as those are irritating to the bowel and anus.

Please get yourself on high fiber diet, high fluid intake and possibly fiber supplements asap.

Also, many medications can cause constipation, most notably pain killers and narcotics. If you have been taking something like codeine, hydrocodone, vicodin, Tylenol 3, etc. you need to discontinue those if possible along with the diet.

If after a couple of days of the high fiber, high fluids you do not get relief from the constipation, or if you see anymore blood, please get to a doctor as soon as you possibly can.

Good Health to you!!!!!!

Bleeding is not a good sign. There could be underlying problems and you should be checked by a doctor.

In general, you should be consuming more fiber from fruits and veggies and drinking plenty of water. This allows for a more controllable and easy flow of your stool.
