Shouldn't be too high. You didn't mention whether you owed federal or state taxes. I know here in Indiana, they penalize taxpayers more heavily than the federal government does. Don't send them extra money. If it's over the amount of penalties and interest, you'll never see the extra you sent again. Send in the $150 and you'll get a notice rather quickly stating what penalties and interest that you owe.

You need to go ahead and file for last year as soon as possible. Send in the $150 with your return if you can, or at least send part of it if you don't have it all. They'll notify you what you owe in penalties and interest - shouldn't be huge, with only that amount owed.

Good luck.

Send them an extra $25, sooner than later. You'll be fine. I owed about $90 a few years ago. When the interest, penalties and fees added up, it was less than $10.

File the return as soon as possible. The interest and penalties are not that high. Also, you want to start running the statute of limitations.
