Well, in general he is a nice man.. married to a coptic Russian though he is muslim, but he told me that as he was you, he and his family had this disgust towards christians, to the extent that if they has a christian carpenter fixing their furniture and asked to drink water, they would later throw away the glass, and at school he and his muslim colleagues would not talk to christians for the same reason. I showd him how eccentric I found this, I feel weird till now.. What do you think?

I can think of many, many "christians" who would take the same attitude if they ever had the misfortune of having a Muslim in their house for whatever reason.

And it's stupid either way. Personally, I'd throw out the glass if the guy looked like he had germs, regardless of which set of superstitions he believed in...lol. (Yeah, this is irony.)

I think religion should be kept out of the workplace. Although to answer the question... There is a lot of mistrust and disgust between Muslims and Christians these days. Obvious reasons why. It all boils down to trust... and nobody trusts anybody these days. Everyone is suspicious of someone, or something.

Well its not the religion but rather just personal biases. When I was in Pakistan I went to a school with a huge Christian Student body and half of the faculty was made up of Christians. Our maid was also Christian and we got along just fine. She greeted us on Eid and we gave her Bonuses on Christmas and Easter. So you see people can and do live peacefully side by side. I would take it no more than a personal bias.

And when I asked if Muslims believed they lost the power to tell the future if they shook hands with an infidel (Something I learned from a popular movie by the way) they said I had issues. Religion breeds intolerance. Everyone knows that. You should have expected nothing less from him.

I really can't make out what you are asking. The second part"but he told me as he was you"--Who?--Me??I think some where in this question, you want us to know the man would throw away a glass if a Christian drank from it.Heck, if he has money to throw away dishes---let him, I don't care.I think he just wanted you to know that he really doesn't like you----in a few words. How was it you showed him "how eccentric you found this?"----I think he will do whatever he wants to now---he's in America---and we have freedom....Right?

My understanding of the Muslim extremist beliefs is that anyone who isn't in their sect of Muslim belief is an infidel. That is why some members of the different sects are killing each other in Iraq and why they want to kill Americans and Europeans. We are all infidels in the minds of those extremists and Infidels must die. Your boss sounds as if he is on the edges of extremist belief, disgusted by but not yet ready to kill the infidel.

From a Muslim point of you, that is extremely wrong! The teachings of the Quran and Sunna disapprove on such acts.
That person obviously understood things wrongly..

This behavior is totally unaccepted by Islam, the religion of peace and equality.
Islam enjoins Muslims to deal with others respectfully even if they do not believe in Islam.
this behavior has nothing to do with the Islamic way of dealing with others. that guy is absolutely wrong.

Sounds obsessive compulsive to me. If you dislike Christians that much, why take advantage of their talents to fix your furniture? Kinda hypocritical, eh?

Religion should not be discussed at work.

His actions are bizarre to Say the least..Christians are to be kind to everyone regardless. You, if Christian, are to set the example that Jesus taught. You may be the only Bible he may read.
