I read this method on another question about rugs slipping on floors, but I bet it would work for this situation. You take the bottom of the foot of the pajama... obviously without the kid in it. And usuing a hot glue gun apply hot glue to the fabric and smooth it out with a plastic spoon or something. Let it dry and it should prevent slipping. If this doesn't work, spray some hardwood floor cleaner all over the pajamas and let the kids slip and slide all over the place, I'm only kidding. Best of luck, but you may want to make a video before you do this. You might could win some money on one of those home video shows.

Maybe get them some slipper socks to wear over them.

Carters makes a footed PJ with non skid bottoms on the feet. I just got some for my 2 y/o.

THIS IS THE BEST ANSWER!

I READ IT IN MARTHA STEWARTS MAGAZINE- CONVICT OR NOT, SHE HAS BRILLIANT CREATIVE FUN IDEAS... and no I'm not advertising for her LOL...

At craft stores they have a glue specifically for this (go and ask the name I forgot it, sorry) , in the magazine it was used for toddler sockies--- names were drawn in cursive and little animals were drawn... You create whatever design with the glue and as it dries it raises up to creat the usual rubber grippies that you see on store bought sockies. It can be a fun project for the group of you to do together.

I would suggest some type of rubber strip +adhesive so that is is not bumpy under his/her foot... you could even do it yourself... get colorful pieces of rubber and cut them into fun shapes like starrs, hearts, crecents... whatever and apply with rubber cement ... I am not sure about the flammability issues with rubber cement but I suggest finding out if you are taking this advice....

My mom always just cut the footies off.....

Or, you can take that rubber stuff thats used to put on the shelfs to make your dishes not slide around, and sew it to the bottom of the footies..... that will help it not slip around.

You can try no skid backing used under chair cushions, you should be able to cut to size and sew it in place. Found at any wal-mart, K-mart type store.

my mother said that putting a piece of duct tape on the bottom or scuffing the bottom with a piece of wool like a S.O.S. pad will stop with skidding. or try to buy newer pjs with the skid-resistant soles.
