There are so many ways the key is to make it creative and make it personal. Take her to where you first met, or where you had youre first date. You could even do a treasure hunt to all the places you have been together then end up at a house with family and friends where you propose.
You could take her out to dinner and have the wait staff put it in her food (but dont hide it her food it would be unfortunate if she ate the ring)
Do searches on the web for ideas i am sure there are many stories out there of how others proposed that can insprire you.

First, be fairly certain she wants to marry you and will say yes. Now, when presenting her with the ring, the most important thing is to be creative and figure HER out...what does she like, what are the things that are important to her, what is her "style". Did she show you what kinds of ring she would like, or are you guessing? If you are guessing and it's a total surprise, pay attention to what kind of jewelry she wears - gold is so last season, HOWEVER, if she wears a lot or mostly gold then buy her a ring with a gold band, the same would be true if she wears silver (then buy her platinum or a white gold band). The important thing is to know HER since really it's all about her at that moment. Good luck.

Play a game of guess whats in your hand by trying to pick a hand that has something in it..........in public place.......try grocery store for example, that'd be a shock when your grocery shopping
