The dogs you are going to find on any online sales page like epuppies are going to be from puppy mills and will usually be sick, have congenital defects and will be from poor quality dogs. These puppies often rack up large vet bills, sometimes die and cause pain and suffering to the people who buy them. If you'd like to learn more about the pain and suffering puppy mills spread, please visit http://www.prisonersofgreed.org/
Get your puppy from a reputable breeder. No matter what anyone tells you, a reputable breeder will not sell anonymously through a third party and they will not sell to just anyone. You are not going to find them through a site that sells hundreds of puppies.
The best choice is petfinder.com where lots of mixed and pure bred dogs are looking for homes and need help.

run a google search for the site, but you are better off going to a shelter or a pund, or a breeder directly, than buying a pet online, at least you can meet them first. or just run a search for the breed you're looking into, this is the easiest way of finding the dog that's right for you.

I sold a litter of Chihuahuas on there before.. and although, like SC says, some of the sellers may be puppy mills not ALL of them are. I vetted everyone that came to my door asking for a pup.
This will only tell you where to find them... it is up to you to go and have a look at the pups before you choose one.. but I guess you know that already anyway.
Hope this helps :)
