Bought a samsung sc-d353 mini dv ntsc at a pawn shop alledgely brand new never opened. which come to find no instruction book. anyhow. i try and do video and i get pink lines. called the store about this and he said i need to clean the head. what does this mean and how can i do it. what product etc. thanks so much in advance.

DONT use the q-tip and alcohol unless you know exactly what you are doing. Buy a cleaning cassette for around $10-20 and run it in your cam for 10 seconds, then if it still shows the lines, run it again, and repeat as necessary. Try to buy a dry cleaning cassette first, unless youre absolutely sure it can take a wet-cleaning cassette. Hope this helps!

Cleaning the heads of your camera is very easy all you need is a head cleaning tape which can be picked up at any store with an electronics department (i got mine from walmart) after you buy a tape you put it into the camcorder and turn the camera on playback mode then just play the tape for 10-15 seconds and try shooting some video agian. the problem should be resolved at this point, however if it isnt you should try agian with the head cleaner. If that doesnt work I would try to return it to the store where you bought it.

on any electronics u can use rubbing alcohol n a cue tip.Have a great new yr. bye 4 now.

Use rubbing alcohol and a Q-tip, and just gentaly rub it until it's clean.
