I dont know the cost.. its not that significant
you do need filters you do need some chemicals
you dont need any bypass valves or wahtever, if yourcar runs on diesel then it will happily run on anythign else.
for that matter diesel engines can and do run quite happily on cooking oil.. they can be a bit of a pig to start though
the potential killer is the Grapsing Gordon at the treasury and his minions will no tbe happy that you are avoiding giving them the tax they nroamlly rake off vehicle fuel sales.... I forgot the figure its around 30..50p per litre.

From what I understand you need primarily a filtering system to clean out the oil. You also need to have your car converted with a dual valve, one that comes from standard diesel and the other from the new source. You also need a pre-heaters.
I've heard that the total coversions cost anywhere from $100 to $500 depending on what you want and who does the work.
Yu generally have to start the car with Diesel and then switch to cooking oil after it warms up.
