The minivan is about 10-12 years old, runs, but makes some strange sounds and shakes. The windshield is cracked, it needs new tires, the lock on the passenger side door doesn't work, it has some rust and quite a few scratches, dings and dents. I do not want to put any money into it, obviously, and my husband thinks we should just donate it for a tax write-off. I would rather sell it and have the cash in my pocket. Is it realistic that ANYONE would want this thing? I really would take just about any offer, I'm just not sure how to go about finding someone to buy it.

Sell that baby!!

When we no longer want something, it is devalued in our eyes.

For someone who cannot afford a car but needs something to get to work and back just long enought to save for a better one, the old rickety one will be better than nothing.

Put one of those clever adds that says "Heap of junk minivan! RUNS, come and get it $650.

Then negotiate down to $500. You will make someones day and you will be $500 closer to paying off some debts from the Holidays.

You could certainly use the money, who couldn't use $500.??

You can put a FOR SALE (as is) sign the window. You don't even need to list a price, just put best offer. Be honest with people as to what it wrong with it. Donating to charity is a really good idea too. I gues it just depends on how long you are willing to look atthat thing sitting in your yard unitl/if someone buys it. Remember, you have to be available too, to let people come and look at it.

there is alway sone person who will buy it no matter. Ad could read: ...Mechanic's special, etc. etc. They will know right off it needs a lot of work. If all else fails, most junk yards will give you about $200 if you drive it in OR you could part it out yourself, but then you'll have junk sitting everywhere for a while.

I had a car like that not long ago. It was a little older but I took it to a junkyard and sold it to them for $50 (drive in price with title).. I saw them trying to sell it for $600 for months afterward. I was happy to have the $50 to spend.

do not donate it, most of the programs are scams. just put a make sign on it that says, " No resonable offer refused," and someone will pick it up.
