Try another card, or format the one you have on the pc if you have a card reader. Is the card well used and faulty? I would have thought that you could still access the menu with a dud card.

Insert and reinsert the card a number of times. Remove the batteries for about 30 seconds. Try it again.

If you are still getting the card fault message, try formatting the card again (using your Menu)... you will lose all pictures on the card although they are likely already corrupt. If this doesn't work, try another card. Still no luck? There may be a "contact" inside that is either dirty or not making contact with the card.

I had a 3030 and never had this problem, although it did happen to me with a Canon camera which was more economical to replace than to repair. Hope this helps
