Man is the only creature capable of blushing, and the only creature with need to.
(Perhaps not literally true on the first part... but disturbingly true on the last part)
Modesty is that part of us that tells us we are better than we really are, and makes us act as baffoons trying to prove it.

when people realise that their achievements are only partly their doing. most of it is luck, nature, circumstance and positive influences. modesty is people realising that they're not as great as people give them credit for.
