I don't blame God when bad things happen I thank God when bad things happen. My Bible says to be thankful to God for everything and that He will make all things work out for my good because I love Him. It is wonderful when everything goes just the way we want it to go but it is when the hard times happen that we grow and our faith is stretched. There is a song we sing in church that has a line that say, "I am the clay and you're the potter...Lord, you're the best thing that's ever happened to me."
One time, I came out of the gym where I work out and found my car plastered with bird poop. I stood by my car praying and giving thanks to God for the bird poop. On my way from the gym to work I pulled into a car wash and right after I pulled into a car wash there was an accident right at the intersection where I would have been had I not pulled into the car wash. I think about that and what about the people who did get into that car accident....perhaps they didn't thank God for the bird poop in their lives.

they do blame God for bad things, look at how many questions on here say "why does God allow babies to die" or "why would God create people if He knows they go to hell" and similar ones. People blame God all the time for stuff. It's just more socially acceptable to say "thank God" than to say "this is all God's fault".

They should. Just as G-d has a hand in the good things that happen to us, sometimes G-d also has a hand in the bad. It is a way to show us that we are on the wrong path, or a trial that we must get through to make us stronger, and better. So, when you feel the hand of G-d in even the bad, you should thank G-d. It's just like how people are always crying out to G-d when bad things go wrong, but when things are good they never invite G-d into thier lives to share the good. (like, Hey G-d, i'm really happy right now. I would love to invite You to share in my happiness if you want)

What do you mean "blame God." Theists accept God to be MORALLY JUST, and thus he punishes the evil and blesses the good (the Grace of God mentioned in Paul's letters).
When good things happen it is as God loves us and rewards us, and when bad happens he still loves us, but punishes us for being "bad" (like a parent-child relationship). The thing you are forgetting is that theists have FAITH in God, and this is not broken by bad things happening, so they dont "blame" Him.

I see there is many view on this matter and this is my view, since every body is entitled to their opinion.
My opinion in this matter is the God always want to bless us and most of the times he does bless us but we never thank him but think is is of our own accord that we received something, thus we should thank God for all things.
If the question was asked to to direct to the question "why does God let bad things happen" than I have a simple answer, He doesn't we let it happen since God is a "gentleman" he let us make our own choices and if we make the right choices then he blesses us and when we allow satin to steal from us that is when we fall and get hurt, for satin came to steal, kill and destroy (John 10:10).
This is just my opinion. You can take it to heart or not that is up to you to decide.
Regards,

Some people do know how to take responsibility for their own actions and don't blame others. Even when we are tempted by Satan, we still have a choice to give in to that temptation or turn away. God is Love and that is good.
May God Bless you.

Some Christians are crawlers and not consistent with that issue. I am a Christian and I hate the tripe at the academy awards...it has become fashionable I guess but I bet some of them don't say grace at dinner when there is no glory in it. Even judging them is wrong but I am guilty of that.

One of the errors we as believers in Christ make is not thanking God for everything that happens to us, not just the good things. The Word of God states that we should thank the Lord in all things, not just the good things (Ephesians 5:15-21). The Bible also says that all things work together for good to them that love the Lord (Romans). It is hard to accept this sometimes due to hard trials, but it is true.
Not to bore you, but I had a good paying job to support my family that I worked at for three years. Then, due to insane reasons, they decided to fire me. It took us months to recover from this, but my wife and I know that the Lord had certain things to teach us, and, while it was hard and humbling. We learned a lot about God's provision and having faith in Him. The book of Job is all about the suffering of God's people and explains much of why God allows His people to suffer. It is for our good and we should thank Him for this.
Great question!

Because every good and perfect thing comes from Him. But we have free will to choose how we view something and we place the "bad or good label" on outcomes. But all things work together for good to them that love the Lord and are called according to His purpose. In God there is no "bad" only love.

Who says they don't?
Celebrities have enough sense to know anything negative they actually say will be immediately picked up by the tabloids and blown out of proportion, so most, wisely, keep their yaps shut when it comes to this.
It doesn't mean they don't feel that way.
