s'appeller means to be named. Je m'appelle....
se dire means to tell one another or to say to one another.

Does either of these possibilities help?

Practically anyone who speaks the French language, or anyone who is familiar with the word "itself" in French! It's the "what" part of your query that throws me off...so I will have to say...a sign or billboard!
