I like Met-rx. It comes in several flavors, is reasonably priced, and easy to prepare. I don't buy them at GNC; I've got a local place that sells a box of 42 packets for less than $90.
I think they have like 42g of protein per shake, plus whatever you mix it with. I put in 2 cups of milk, a spoonful of Creatin powder, and a little 100% juice, then hand blend it. Plus, it's fortified with a bunch of minerals and all that jazz.
The thing is, these are not meal replacements, they are supposed to supplement your normal diet. And I agree with everyone else . . . keep fast food to a minimum. You won't just gain weight on the outside, you'll mess up your arteries if you go to McWorld all the time. Eat a balanced diet and have a reasonable workout regimen. The key, THE key, is consistent habits.

You can't gain 2 lbs of muscle a week. Maybe 2 lbs overall, but that will include water/fat, etc. Shoot for two lbs of muscle a month and even that will be hard. Go buy whatever weight gain shake you want - if you want more calories, just drink it more often. It will be expensive, as you've discovered. Or, go buy some canned chicken/tuna and add a couple tablespoons of mayo - you'll get calories that way. Almond butter, whole eggs - there are a lot of cheap ways to get protein and calories. But, don't be afraid of fat. If you're really burning that many calories, it won;t hurt to use fat as an energy source.

I don't about the best, but I take Soy Protein 95 from GNC. They always seem to have buy one get the second 50% off. They are around $11-12 a piece, so it's a pretty good deal.
I thought guys usually drink that creatine stuff to help them gain weight. I would suggest going the fast food route. You'll feel gaseous and sluggish with all that bread and fat.
