reminding you of the truth?

This was not meant to be offensive, but I see this reasoning used alot by Christians so I wanted to see how they would come back at it. It was a light hearted post.

No what your doing is pushing your beliefs on people. As you just admitted in your own question. I am a firm believer that everyone is entitled to believe as they wish, but when you start pushing your beliefs on someone its wrong.

Why do people talk about different 'truths' its not hard philosophy - there is a RIGHT answer for a given question - in chess there is often an objectively BEST move.

Either God is there or he isnt. To say 'we believe in a different truth' sounds too much like 'we choose to believe in a lie'.

You can't disprove God's existence so few atheists can categorically say there is no God - to be fair their assertion would have been arrived at thought logic reason and as assessment of probability but all we can honestly really say is that the chance that God exists is infinitesimal and if he did he wouldnt be worth worshipping.

Your truth is opinion. You don't know one way or the other if there is a God. You are basing your theory off what you can see and touch. So, that's why some believers may get annoyed. That and the fact that you Atheists tend to belittle believers into crazed basket cases every chance you get.

How do you know this is fact? Are you 100% sure of this "fact"? Of course you aren't. Now that's not to say there is or isn't a God. This is an argument that can not be won until humans cease to exist, and even then there would be no one left to argue. So when you say "there is no god" to someone who happens to believe in a god (or goddess) all you are doing is provoking an argument that will no one is able to win, therefore, you're setting yourself up for defeat. Is that a smart move? Of course it's not, people will subconsciously perceive you as an idiot, and you will be treated as such. So my solution that I'm going to share to you is, stop telling them there is no god. It doesn't nothing but prove your stupidity and disrupt the peace for the rest of us.

I don't think it is seen as judging a person...but the arrogance of being "so kind as to remind us of the truth" that bothers believers.

Of course, many believers do the same thing to atheists - being so kind to remind them there is a God (just as arrogantly).

Well, I suppose such a question is a bit like being pantsed in the hallway at school. It's like having to point out to a grown adult that there is no Santa Claus... while it might seem to you that you're only telling them what the truth is, you are really revealing how deluded and/or doltish they are.

But really, when we atheists tell you deluded folks, that you've been sold "a bill of goods", we don't (for the most part) judge you when we do so. You've been fooled; but heck who hasn't been fooled at some point in their life? Let he who hasn't been fooled cast the first stone.... so to speak.

Well today everyone knows that God doesn't exist.
At heavens there is no God , the earth is not the center of the world , the age of the earth opens our eyes to the truth and finally the so called Spirit (Pneyma in greek) Is nothing but air.
So why the christians feel offended? just because they know deep inside them that it is true and they feel ashamed and angry with you, telling them the truth and spoiling their fairytales/false beliefs. They need fairytales to continue in this crule world, you know man the life is a b#@# etc......
Finally the science has proved that the faith (for psychological reasons) helps people overcoming illness. So what is the reason to spoil their hopes ? (fake yes but hopes).
That's my opinion... wish i have helped
Bye bye

No, you're just stating your conclusion. Others disagree with you, and frankly, although I have no patience for fundamentalism, I have seen only a handful of atheists who have taken the time and sweat to get into the issues deeply -- that is, to read philosophical theism which cogently and intelligently contradicts their conclusions. How about you -- have you read Swinburne's "The Existence of God" or Hans Kung's "Does God Exist"? I've read Russell, Nietzsche, and Sartre. Why is it that so few atheists are willing to engage their intellectual opponents with any seriousness or integrity? I'll tell you why. It's because, like most half-wit believers, they have a doctrine, and they're not going to go out of their way to have it challenged. It makes them feel superior.

I think Christian fundermentalists are just the Same as Muslim fundermentalists. They both want a theocratic state where they can punish and even kill us if we disagree with them. Just look at all the violation notices you get on here just for questioning the foundation of their concepts like us burning in hell forever.
Seems they really just want to violate us and are frustrated that they don't have enough control over the government to make it legal to violate us yet. Everytime I get a violation notice it reminds me of how, intolerant, weak and crawl they really are. And they call us judgemental for not accepting their imagined powers and their supposed rights to goven us to death. Sad laugh.

I posted a question about a similar topic recently, and a number of people accused me of being closed minded, even though I asked in good spirit and with a sincere intellectual curiosity.

Peace!
Really? Try this: If all the pieces of a watch were placed in a can and the can shaken gently for a million years the watch would not be "accidentally" put together and running.
My friend, your big bang theory does not hold any water.
