I have always worked in office and building societies. Im willing to go to college but need to earning at the same time.I would love a career that is rewarding and makes a differnce to childrens lifes. Children with disabilities, learning difficulties etc.

Honestly, A really great to start is through volunteering. Through that you can meet different people and connections that will help steer you towards the opportunities that are available to you.

One great places to look is the MDA. They have a summer camp that they run in a bunch of different states and are always looking for volunteers to help out over there over the summer.

In England..... The first thing you're going to need is enhanced clearance from the C R B (Criminal Records Bureau) , then some training in childcare.
I'd suggest start off working with a nursery in a deprived area, and work your way up from there.

Check out local support groups and centres in your area. If you start as a volunteer, they can advise you on what college courses to take.

When I was at college, I used to volunteer for the PHAB society (Physically Handicapped Able Bodied), it was very rewarding, and they recommended courses etc.,

It's an area lots of people turn to later in their career and other skills and the confidence that comes with age is valued. It's likely to be shift work but you will probably be able to do your NVQ on the job
