I think it's great that you admitted your mistake. However, if I was your bf's mother, I'd be really concerned because what if in the future you cheat on him again?

If i were your mother in law i would stay out of the situation and let my son deal with it. As long as he is over 18 he is old enough to make his own decisions.
So i would stay out.
