I've noticed that among all of my Christian friends and all the Christian celebrities and fictional Christian people, none of them are named Jesus, except for some Spanish Christians (please correct me if I'm wrong). Is there a reason for this? I'm not a Christian, but I'm still very curious.

It is mainly due to the culture of that country, There is no salvation in the name of Jesus, but there is salvation in the name of Jesus The Christ, Because Christ means the annointed one. There was another person in Christ time that was also called Jesus, But he was not the Christ.

The Greek Christians have the name of Christos (which means Jesus in Greek), by the way it is a very common name in Greece.
The Jews have the name of Yeshue which is Jesus in Hebrew, the name is still widely used among the Jews.

Yehoshua/Yeshua means Jehovah is Salvation. In Spanish and Tagalog Jesus (pronounced hey-sus), Iesus (Greek).
Well, a name is an important thing to a person and usually reflects characteristics--the name Jesus is...lets say too overwhelming. I also do not know a person by the name of Jehovah....only God has that name.

The Americans and British feel awkward about naming their children after the person who became a God (or was God on earth.)
While the Spanish see it as honor to do so.
(By the way, in Spanish, Jesus is pronounced hay-Seuss.)

I think one of the main reasons is that conscienteous Christians are reluctant to name their children by the name of Jesus from fear that the name will become a commonplace and used casually and even blasphemy. I cannot tell you why the Spaniards are exceptional in this case, because it is their business, but for me personally I would not like to give the opportunity for thoughtless people to dishonour or disrespectfully mention that name in public when he call my son. Besides I can never tell what will happen to my son. He might become a scum in society later and thus bring disgrace to that name. I would never call even my Dad using his name, but respectfully call him just "Daddy".

Joshua Ben Joseph was the name that Michael used on earth. Jesus is the common usage.

Probably as a courtesy to set him aside from the common man.
It is more out of respect for his name rather than other wise.

to name a person Jesus is ot say that they have to do somethig that willsave the world ,they hav to b persecuted and hurt the way Jeseus was.most parents think it is immora lto name their kids a name that is o sacred wen we r only mortal.
