If you don't have kids or pets you could go with white for the snow effect. Otherwise I'd go with a light grey.

It dependsd on the room. Is it big? You could get away with dark carpet then, but I'd go with something neutral on the floor, though. Maybe lighter gray.

Blue or Grey. A solid if its for adults, a pattern if its for kids as well as adults.

do a deep blue but not navy and grey should be gorgeous!!
