Im thinking of going to Cosmetology school for hair but I am not sure if in the long run it will just be a waste of money and I should be finishing up my degree in college??

That's' a tough one. The best advice i can give you is to pray about it, and let Him guide you. you can also write the pros and cons of both.

You should do whatever you think will make you happy long term.
If you're already doing a degree I suggest you finish it, otherwise that would be a waste of time/money, then after you graduate you can do a course at a cosmetology college - that way you have something to fall back on if one doesn't work out!

I think you should do both...go to Hairdressing school first because it is a great back up and if your good at it you can make serious money. After your finished then you can continue your other degree at night perhaps giving you the best of both worlds. If your college ed doesn't pan out you will still have the Cosmetology license. I went to both and still do both hair and xray it worked out great!

When I was 15 years old, I told my parents I wanted to be a hair stylist and not go to college. The were unsupportive and told college was the best thing. I went to college, graduated with a BA in English. My current job is being a Mom/homemaker. I am looking for a job but can't find anything. I love fixing my daughter's hair pretty. My point is .........follow your heart. If it's hair/make-up you like, go for it.

personal care, salons and spas are at an all time high demand. If you're good and can get into a great salon or spa you can do really well. I don't see the salon industry dropping off anytime soon. Not with celebrity obsession being as high as it is. If you love it do it. You'll never regret that.

hairschool why would you want to go to school and learn stuff that you are probably but ganna use when you are doing hair???? i would say go to hairschool and get your certificate and apply for a job its so much better

why would it be a waste of time? hairstylist and Barber make lots of money trust me I am a Barber and eventually when you get your skills up you can open your on shop and really see the good money either one you pick if you don't follow through on what they have taught you it will be a waste of time and money

Do what you have a passion for. If doing hair is what you have a passion for then go for it!!! I know many hairdressers and they find it very rewarding. Good luck!!

do what you think is best, what career will get you farther in life and what career will bring in the most money for you good luck!!
