I watched a program with her the other night on C-span2 and she cleared alot of rumours about Islam. I may not have agreed personally with her belief system, but I was impressed with her knowledge.

Jinenglish: What am I supposed to watch, the WB, or PAX? If you want to increase your knowledge base, you watch stuffy programs.

I am not 100% certain, but I think she is a Bahai. She mentions them in her lecture, and given that they accept all religious texts as holding truth, it would make sense.

I've read a couple of her books (well, flipped through them slowly) and have seen some interviews of her. She has a lot of insight and information about Islam and it's history. She doesn't follow Islam but I think she has a great respect for it. I think she doesn't accept Islam and become Muslim because she doesn't want to deal with the daily rituals (praying 5 times a day) and maybe doesn't want to give up certain things (maybe alcohol or pork), but I think she probably has a certain level of belief in it as well.

Karen Armstrong is an incredibly intelligent woman, especially when it comes to the religion of Islam. She is not Muslim herself, but she has extensive ammounts of knowledge and has written many many books and done interviews. I would recommend her to anyone looking to study Islam. Maybe you can find something with her on YouTube or Metacafe.

2. Muslims does not hate non-muslims.. Islam is a religion of peace (even the word islam in arabic means peace)
dont judge islam by wt you get from the media its all misleading and all part of the propaganda against islam.. Listen to people who studied and understands the true islam like Karen Armstrong

Karen Armstrong is probably the best writer on religious topics alive today. She does a lot of research for her books. I wish I had known she was going to be on, I would liked to have seen that.

Will Muslims have her speak for them since it appears that non of their scholars have been able to successfully refute Ali Sina's claims against their prophet and Islam.

Google Ali Sina Challenge

He is a former devout Muslim who realized the truth and is now speaks strongly against his former beloved religion.
