It seems that we too had a poor granite countertop installation. Not ony they cut the drop in sink hole in the house but they even made cut into the entire wall just to fit the peaces. The seams are to wide, uneven, cheeped. We paid $65per sqft.
Besides, I just cannot deal with the silica dust anymore. The cut of a drop in sink is the easiest of all. Now I know they should do it in their shop. But they don't want. They will install new slabs tomorrow.
I even suggested them to get a undermount sink. Just to make everything easier. What can I do?

I would insist that the cutting be done off-site. You should not be expected to have to deal with that. Also, have the installer make the seams perfect. Sounds like they are not professional at all. Contact the owner (if different from the installer) and see what can be done. Small chips can occur when cutting, but the seam should look and feel perfect. After installation, they may have so sand the finish to get a nice seam, and this can only be done in your home. $65 sq. ft. is expensive and you should not have to settle for a second rate install.

Take pictures of all incorrect installation and keep for the future. Contact another company and ask advice from them. They may even come to see your install and recommend something different. I would not allow an further work until you can agree on the terms and procedure. You may have to take them to court if things get sticky. Good luck.

Have a meeting with your salesman asap prior to any more work. Kitchen slabs are normally cut in the shop for the sink and baths in the field. You should buy the sinks outright and show them to your sales man so they have the measures and faucet holes are also important to be addressed but they also can field cut those. The remodels I've done always get under-mount sink basins mounted with pure silicone in the field. Clean and prep all mounting surfaces with denatured alcohol prior to install. Address all scratches and coloring of seems with salesman, it's a good plan to schedule him to meet on 1 hr notice towards end of install before the installers leave. The only cutting in your home should be for faucet holes.Good luck.

So, what's the question??? Have you paid them yet? Who paid for the slabs? If you are not out of pocket for anything, give them another try. IF you are paying for the material, think really hard before letting them screw up more slabs of granite.
If you are not out of pocket any money yet, let them do the install but check it before they fill the seams.
Don't pay them any more money until the are totally done and you are completely satisfied with the job. Good luck.
