if A = B and if B = C then surely A = C .... right....well if u listen to others out their they will let u believe that A is not equal to C...how sad....we are all brothers and sisters...and none is greater than the Almighty...how He must laugh at our feeble reasons for seeing the differences between us rather than the common ties that bind us all...the Angel Gabriel is but one of the little signs He has left in all our books of wisdom..but how foolish we all are by ignoring the obvious...way to go sister ...ur on a path of enlightement and wisdom...keep on moving forward and all the best on your journey...God bless u

My GOD! Such negative, insulting answers!!! Come on, now, people! Can we respond with some respect and maturity?
You're right that Islam and Christianity have a lot in common. It's just that, the main differences include the fact that Christians call Jesus the son of God and/or that Jesus is God. We Muslims, on the other hand, believe that God has no son/father, and that we all will be punished/rewarded for our own deeds; no one else will be or has been punished for them. That's one of the differences, and a very important one. Neither is gonna accept the religion/beliefs of the other. Who's wrong and who's right, we'll all know on Judgment Day. So, for now, can we please stop pointing fingers and claiming "I" am right and "you" are wrong?
Peace and blessings be upon all!

The Bible is the inspired book of God. It is the only Book that claims that. Even the Quran doesn't even claim that. The Quran was made from a nomad that lived in a trade "traffic" area where he had small amount of knowledge of Judaism, Christianity. He took his pagan personal beliefs of his ancestors the moon god hence the crescent moon symbol (Allah is a pre Islamic name corresponding to the Babylonian Bel) which was worshiped at Mecca and molded those beliefs with a little Judaism and Christianity. It's not inspired, but filled with hundreds of historical and scientific errors i.e. Noah's flood did not take place in Moses' day (Sura 7:136, compare 7:59)
Also the fact that you talked about "Gabriel" delivered the Quran to Muhammad is a mistake. It does say that in Sura 2:97 but it contradicts itself by saying that Allah came in the form of a man! Suras 53:2-18: 81:19-24, also it says that it was the Holy spirit who came to Muhammad (Suras 16:102; 26:192-194) Later on it says that it was angels (plural) that came to Muhammad (Sura 15:8). There are many plagiarisms in the book, i.e. Sura 27:17-44 is the Second Targum of Esther! I can go on and on.

Actually there is a lot. The first is , if you do some research you need to find the name of God. The Hebrew is YHWH, or common Jehovah. This is the name that God gave to Moses who told Pharaoh who is the one true God. So if you look in older King James versions you will find Jehovah, However because of the trinity doctrine in newer versions of the King James the name of God has been removed. Just a fact.
Jesus is greater than any other person. Reason although Islam says he is a prophet, ( they are correct ). Jesus is greater in that he was appointed by God. He was actually Gods first creation. Look at Proverbs 8:12 and on. Because Jesus died for our imperfections/sins, we have an opportunity (through Jesus in Jesus name, ) have access to God in prayer. Also we have the opportunity if we die, we may be resurrected according to God (Jehovah) promise to persons.
Islam and the Koran were written much latter than the bible. Also, many other religions mimic the stories of the bible in some way. Also the apostles gave warning to religions or ideas of Angels and their commands. This includes Islam and Mormons. True that some of the bible like the Book of Daniel has Aramic writing, only due to the author being captave possibley, but they are two very distenct religions. Islam believes in persons going to heaven, the bible mentions only a selected few will go to heaven. Gods purpose is to populate the earth. and so much more.

At the best, they are like the good twin/evil twin complex. On one hand you have the good twin- Christianity preaching peace and love. On the other is Islam- teaching war and hatred, as can be seen by the way they treat women. Mohammed came along hundreds of years after Christianity and Jesus Christ. The Arab peoples were in need of a monotheist religion and Mohammed was looking to be treated like a king. He devised the idea of having a vision, and the Arab peoples loved his stories, as men were the dominant figures in politics and home life. We have all seen the outcome of both. Christianity, the true, good religion has been blessed and prospered through the years. Islam, the bad, dark "twin" if you will, was cursed and has languished. The only reason Islam is in the news today around the world is their anger and frustration over this curse has become to much for them to bear. The Bible says, it is not too late to repent one's sins and start a life with Christ. We can only pray the Muslim peoples of the world will heed The Word. I hope this helps you!

No, absolutely not! Islam is a religion created by a man who wrote a book that reflects biblical teachings (Galatians 1:8-9; Revelation 22:18-21), but is not the Bible. The Koran states that Jesus was a prophet, but not Messiah, which is key. Jesus Christ is God and has declared Himself to be as such (John 10:22-30). Christ has also proved Himself to be Messiah, completing the work of Messiah in Isaiah 53. Christianity is a religion of bringing mankind back into relationship with God by forgiveness and repentance of sins. Islam has proved itself to be a religion of violence and subjugation. Also, to cover another point, you cannot use the actions of the Roman Catholic Church in the Dark Ages against this argument, as this sect of Christendom does not follow the Bible or the teachings of Christ.

Islam believes that Jews and Christians perverted the true religion and that Mohammed corrected them.
Christianity believes that Christianity is post-Christ Judaism, and that Christ is the Jewish Messiah.
Judaism believes that the Messiah is yet to come.
They are three different religions claiming allegiance to the same God, the God of Abraham (a Jew).
Saying Islam and Christianity are the same religion is like saying that Democrats and Republicans are the same because they are both American political parties. The difference is night and day.

here's my 2 cents worth. The big point of contention is was Jesus God or a prophet. Seems to me people just want to argue. Let us all just say Jesus has a special relationship with God concerning our salvation which is not fully understood by mortal man and leave it at that. Accepting Mohamid as a true prophet then becomes the central issue and in order to argue that question people would have to actually have to read the Qur'an and I can not see how that would hurt anyone, and would likely solve the discussion after a time cuz as you say Allah and the Christian God of Abraham are one.

I think the first pan-Islamisist was Sayyid Qutb. He argued basically that Christianity is a more complete version of Judaism and that Islam is more complete than Christianity. From my minimal exposure in college, my texts seemed to convey a similar message. The consensus is that all 3 montheistic faiths worship the same God.

Possibly.
Essentially, all religions are the same. They all seek inner peace. They all seek social harmony. They all seek the ultimate reward. They all seek Supreme Beings and other major contributors to the positive effort.
The thing is that most Religions were made by people hundreds if not thousands of years ago. These guys tailor made their religions to suit their selves, not the entire world. Why should they have had a global philosophy in the BC era? I doubt Jews even knew that North America existed back then.
I guess that I would say that all of the older religions were tailor made specifically for the people that created them, BUT they all draw from information that benefits us all.
