i think in essence it is pretty much the same.
grow up, find partner, have children. father hunts and gathers (goes to work) and mother looks after the cave (home) and nurtures the young ones.

only difference now a days is that mothers actually leave the cave to work also for financial reasons and of course we have divorce which i get the feeling wasn't as common 5000 years ago. (at least i don't think a caveman left his main woman for another although i wouldn't be suprised if he 'serviced' a few cavewomen).

I think it has quite a bit. Not completely, but quite a bit.

Husbands and Fathers did not do a whole lot when it came to children and home rearing. My husband does all the cooking and I doubt that would have been the case then.

Women work outside the home, sometimes men stay home with the children. Marriage and having children comes much later than it ever did.

Then their are blended families, doubt there was a lot of that going on. Having two Moms' or two Dad's would not have been even acceptable let alone as common as today. Adoption wouldn't have been either.

People of color, different religions, etc. Would not have intermixed as they do today.

While are society today is not without it's violence it definitely is not as violent as it was then.

People are able to choose their spouses in most countries, it was often arranged previously.

Sex before marriage is much more common. Divorce is common.

Most families do not have generations all living together as they did back then.

Sure some is the same, but there have been a lot of changes as well.

I don't think men would be changing diapers, cooking or cleaning, etc. Women would not have options to work outside the home, etc for the most part. And we would not have doctors and lawyers of different races, colors, creeds, etc...
