You must pre-lighten the hair in order to get a vibrant shade of blue. Otherwise, blue will just deposit over your natural hair color leaving it looking really ashy, deep, and a greenish tone to it. The only way to see it, is to pre-lighten your hair, dry the section... and deposit a the blue color. I am a stylist, and do fashion color all of the time. Trust me... this is the only way. Any lightener WILL damage your hair. The key to fashion colors is you only need to lighten the hair light enough that the blue can evenly deposit and cover the color you have lightened to.. Meaning... you don't need to lighten to pale blonde (this is where most damage their hair). Lighten to a Level 7 (dark blonde) and you should be just fine. good luck... Hope this helps

you should ALWAYS bleach any hair before dying it. Otherwise, the dye fades out really quickly. All dye fades like 10% within a few days, anyways. By bleaching your hair, this will be MUCH less noticable.
If you are afraid because of the perm, then call the hairstylist that permed your hair and just ask her on the phone.

With most blue tones you really need to have a light base for the blue to show really well and be vibrant/last longer, so bleaching is normally recommended if you dont have pale hair already.

if your hair is a light color it will turn green after a couple of shampooes. blue + yellow = green.
if you have dark hair do not lighten first - just leave it on longer (with deposit only color you can leave it on for like 3 hours with no problems)
if you have light hair pre-deposit with green first (to get some color to stick) then do the blue over it.

NO! do no longer bleach your hair in the previous you utilize permenant shade. this could in basic terms reason your hair to be like broom straw, truly dry and spoil off on the factor the place the bleach ends.
