I know it's quite ridiculous to ask but, my brain canst seem to function properly enough to find out what the decimal .375 is in cups.

I have figured enough to bring down the recipe of pancakes from making a serving of 12 pancakes to make 6, which was quite easy, but now to get 3 pancakes, the recipe calls for dividing the recipe once more in half.

Original Recipe *(12 pancakes):
2 Cups (P)ancake (M)ix
1-1/2 Cups Water

6 pancake Serving:
1 Cup PM
3/4 Water

3 Pancake Serving:
1/2 Cup PM
.375 Cups Water <--- (What is that in cups? Sorry. >_<)

This is an old thread, but I'm sure people still are puzzled by how to solve this, and must be googling this on a regular basis so I thought I'd contribute. This is what I do. When you measure out 3/4 of something in a dry measuring cup, you could use your 1-cup measure and fill only to the 3/4 line, OR

if your 1-cup measuring cup is dirty, you could fill a 1/2 cup dry measure cup plus a 1/4 cup dry measure cup, to make them add up to the 3/4. Right?

Well, instead of this, if you only want half of the 3/4 cup measure, then do this. Use half of the 1/2 cup measure cup (which is a 1/4 cup measure), plus 1/2 of the 1/4 cup measure (which is 1/8 cup). So, by using a 1/4 cup measuring cup plus an 1/8 cup measuring cup, and filling to the top, they will both combine together to be exactly half of 3/4 cup.

Now, if you want half of a 3/4 cup of LIQUID, you can still follow this method and use the DRY measuring cup, just make sure you pour the liquid all the way up to the rim of the measuring cups.

There are 12 Tablespoons in 3/4 cup so half of that is 6 Tablespoons.

just make the whole batch and then you will have some batter left for tomorrow and the next day. Refrigerate it in a covered container. Prepared pancake batter will last about 4days before it starts tasting bad. Just stir it up the next day and you're ready to go. To answer your question just go a little over a third of a cup. It's pancake batter, if you are a tbsp over or under it's not going to matter too much.

you could also do 1/4 cup plus two table spoons.

1/2 cup plus 1/4 cup equals 3/4 cup. so if you divide both in half you get 1/4 and 1/8. 1/4 cup equals 4 tablespoons.

or technically slightly more than 1/3 of a cup. 1/3 is .333.

Use 3/8 of a cup. Since you probably don't have an 1/8 cup measurer, just fill your 1/4 cup once and then fill it halfway for the other eighth.
