I have downloaded video "avi" files and would like to transfer them a VCD or DVD. What program can I use to do this?

avi files are viewable on dvd/vcd player

There are lots of software for this. Most VCD/DVD burning softwares automatically convert mpg or avi files to VCD or DVD formats during the burning process. The dominant software on the market are NERO and ROXIO. You can google on the internet by typing NERO or ROXIO using your web browser to get information on these softwares, then you can buy them later.

That is a GUI based front end for the avi2dvd tool.

There are a number of free open source tools to do this job/function.
Never pay for this type of software because there really are plenty.
