I always have to be in warmth, & this is wierd because I grew up in New Jersey. I currently attend school in New Orleans and love it because of its beautiful weather. Just about a year ago, I noticed the problem. I always turn the heat up high even if its not that cold outside. It just feels good to me. I also am diagnosed as Anemic..so i'm thinking that could be the problem. My roommate is studying pharmacy and wants to test me for Diabetes. Could that also be a possibility.
Also-If its cold in a room I can't concentrate or don't want to do anything but lay in the bed under my blankets..and i wear hoodies even if its like 70 degrees outside. I hate cold/cool weather!

You may want to consider having your thyroid levels checked. The thyroid hormone level helps regulate many different body fucntions such as appetite, temperature, etc. When thyroid levels fall too low, it can cause your body's temperature controls to not work properly, which leads to feeling cold even when it is warm. (the exact opposite occurs when the thyroid levels are too high). If your levels are too low, your doctor may prescribe replacement thyroid hormone, which will help regulate your internal temperature and not feel cold all the time.

Keep in mind that thyroid hormone replacement is generally due to the body's inability to produce the proper amounts of hormone and you may need to take replacement thyroid for life.

I don't think the work addicted comes into play here.

A medical problem, anemia, definitely you feel cold, all the time.

When you have your blood check for the anemia, do a thyroid
and sugar also. Basically you should have a 'full and complete'
blood work done.

What you are experiencing requires a diagnosis from a good
physician.

good luck

It might be a habit from the days you spent in New Jersey. However, if you say that you are anemic, that could be the part of the problem. If I were you, I would have gone to a doctor.

It doesn't sound like addiction to me, it sounds like you have a physical problem. See a doctor about this as soon as you can. It may be more than just anemia. I agree with the person who said it sounds like an endocrine disorder, but I am not a doctor.

do your fingers or hands change color and sometimes even feel swollen...do you get pains in your legs like it feels like its in the bone.when its cold outside..do absolutely hate the air conditioner.....docs gave me nifedipine a calcium channel blocker for people that may have reynauds... can go out in winter now with shorts on...but since i could no longer afford to see the doctor i resorted to looking alternatives up online..apparently calcium plus magnesium does the same thing even got to taking l arginine, capsaisin or ceyenne pepper pills, and a few others as well as a multivitamin...sad to have to take supplements all the time..but it is a mineral deficiency....http://umm.edu/health/medical/altmed/condition/raynauds-phenomenon

add a thyroid fuction test as well...hypothyroidism causes patients to seek warmer enviroments apart from a host of other symptoms...a physician consult wont be a bad idea for just a review of all your blood results to ensure that ur ship shape and ready to tackle your studies...ur not weird my dear...and if after all the blood testing your still seeking heat then get yourself a hot blooded new orleans man and burn the mid night oil...hmmmmm...cozy

You could have a number of endocrine disorders, but maybe you are turning into a lizard.
