I watching a show about Nostradomus and there was a part that said he latinsed his name as "Michel De Nostradomus(sp?)". I've heard it before in Everafter, the movie with DrewBarrymore, her character claims her name is "Michel De something or another". Does it have a particular meaning(family, occupation, appearance) or is it just a common name from that time? I was just curious thank you.

So if it means "Micheal of", then is Michel sort of like a last name? A family name then?

Michel de Nostredame was one of at least eight children of Reynière de St-Rémy and grain dealer and notary Jaume de Nostredame. The latter's family had originally been Jewish, but Jaume's father, Guy Gassonet, had converted to Catholicism around 1455, taking the Christian name "Pierre" and the surname "Nostredame" (the latter apparently from the saint's day on which his conversion was solemnized).

So, he was simply latinising his grandfather's adopted name. "Nostredame" means "Our Lady", i.e. the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Avatars refer to a concept that is not any different at all from your "real" name as also only concept. This is a spiritual question because, in fact, there is nothing such as a You that exists. The You/Me/I which folks think they are is a linguistic convention for something that exists only in a dualistic consciousness. Importantly and ultimately, there is not a You and Your Life. There is not God except as your dualistic consciousness thinks one up. Knowing this or even just acting as if this were true changes behavior in a positive way. Thinking there is a God usually (not always) results in the worst kind of behavior because of the divisive delusion and ultimate arrogance it is based on. The practice of remembering and reminding one's "self" this is usually called religion in the broadest sense. Kshetra means a field of action and a holy place - sometimes site of a war - which affects consciousness in the way that physics describes reality. The World Trade Center Site in New York is one such Kshetra.

in this case, "de" is called a "particule" in french. it's a part of the name. it's like Charles de Gaulle.
before it was the sign of the aristocraty. they bought this "particule"(you can find"le", "la", "de" or "du"...) to put it before their name and then show that they were rich.

in other case it means from or of.
