think about it. a morale theist has been morale because they have been binded to religious laws. a moral atheist has been so under there own free will. but because the theist belived in 'god', it puts him/her and the atheist on equal footing (?)

isnt it better the do good things anyway, than to do it because of eing ordered to do it?

I, for one, do not believe that someone should be judge by their faith but by their actions within the world. I also believe that the Divine isn't some figure that sits around judging us for our lives. The Divine exists within us all and we are all a part of the Divine. One of the major problems I have had with organized religions is their view that someone who does evil can be forgiven and rewarded in the afterlife if they bend their knee to how they are told to worship whereas an individual who lives a good life and tries to help out others when they can but doesn't bend their knee to how others view they should will be punished for the rest of time.

Atheism is a different view of the world, one that does not have god in it where a theist (one that believes in God) has god as the focus of their life. A moral atheist is different to a moral theist because the atheist's morals are not based on the bible or Koran. So no, I don't think god (if he does exist) would find moral atheism equally acceptable. A theist sees god as the source of morals, they don't do it because god says don't do it the atheist doesn't do it because the atheist doesn't feel its right. An theist would not tolerate abortion because god forbids it but an atheist may find it morally acceptable to abort a baby why another atheist may see it as the same as murder. The atheist morals change the theists morals remain the same. Now I'm not saying the theist's morals are better than the atheists or vice-versa I'm just saying they're very different.

Our righteousness is as a filthy rags. Without God, we are left to define morality for ourselves. But, being flawed, in a flawed world, so we develop a flawed sense of morality. Only w/ God can we obtain perfection. And so no, God does not see his righteousness equal to our righteousness.
Now, at the same time I define sin as such: an act done willfully knowing or thinking that it is wrong. And so, if an atheist followed their morales to the letter, then there would be no sin in that sense. However, if they are confronted w christianity (and not mormon or some other colt) they will have to decide for or against it.
Also, christians don't do things becuase we are "ordered" to. We do it becuase we want to, becuase we believe it is right. Intention is everything.
God does not care w/ religion you belong to until you are confronted w/ the one true religion. Then you are responsible for your actions, and must face the consequences accordingly.

Stephen: Faith is dead w/o works.

Shaz:
John may have been the one to have transcribed those words, but as a Christian, I believe all scripture comes from God. After all, surely you agree that if God exist that he would make sure to leave the truth w/ us. It comes down to faith really.

Well i don't agree that a moral atheist is an oxymoron.
Atheists don't believe in God but that doesn't mean they are all evil demons running around setting fires.

Morals are about knowing and practicing right vs wrong not about God.

Anyway in answer If God doesn't accept someone who was an atheist who lived right then God is not worthy of being God...it should be about your actions...not the club you belong to

Minister: Well right there those are JOHN'S WORDS, not God's...nothing in bible was written by God. So I don't see what authority John has to yap about anything

We are all born with a sense of right and wrong. Even as children grow up they know right from wrong. Most people do the right thing. There is more good in the world than bad. But all we here about on the news is the bad so it makes the world look bad. I have never had a voice in my head that was not my own mind speaking. God is a part of you. God was made up by man for reasons unknown to me. I remember talking to God as a child before anyone even told me about God. He was my imaginary friend. I called him God. I don't remember why. Maybe I overheard someone else talking about God and it imprinted in my mind. All I know is I'm on earth and I'm going to die someday. I'll know all I need to know when that happens. I just think people need to think that there is a God. I also think that the quest for religion is destructive. More people have been killed in the name of God than any other thing. Do you think that is good? Of course not! If there is a God he has a sick sense of humor. This world cracks me up! All the stupidity over whose religion is the true religion is pretty lame. If there is a God he would have made an effort to bring us peace by now. Judaism, Christianity, and Islam have all brought death along with them. Will the world survive them? Who knows! I'm staying away from religious groups.

Have you read the Qu'ran?

[046:020] On the Day when those who disbelieve (in the Oneness of God – Islâmic Monotheism) will be exposed to the Fire (it will be said): "You received your good things in the life of the world, and you took your pleasure therein. Now this Day you shall be recompensed with a torment of humiliation, because you were arrogant in the land without a right, and because you used to rebel against God's Command (disobey God).

I want to tell you that MINISTER has it absolutely right! There will come a judgment and the BOOK of LIFE will be opened. If your name is not there, You will be Cast into the Lake of FiRe! I hope that you change your mind about GOD while there is still time. That time will run out for some and they will be left out in the dark. Read, study, and obey GOD's HOLY WORD (the BIBLE). Have a great day.

Fascinating question, but I'm sure that many religions would state that one needs to believe in their specific faith in order to be accepted by God. I will tell you this, if it were up to me, I would be more concerned about how a person lived their life and how they treated others than which faith they believed in, so a moral atheist would enter into Heaven under my views.

No because....

Choice is God given out of love. Proof of choice means people are not doing good things simply because .....it's a much bigger picture than that. If a person makes a choice to tell another there is no God who decides they are making a "good choice" ...that is deception coming from the Satan. Is there proof that is a good thing to do? God is love and all that is right...He is perfect and knowing none of us will reach that point of being perfect is it really "good" to tell people there is no God when most of us strive for good vs evil?

God does not bend or adjust His Truth.
any sort of atheism is denying the existense of God and thus a sin against God.
being moral does not make you acceptable to God no more than good works will get you to Heaven.
both are false assumptions.
only being "born again" or "born of the Spirit" will change your sinful nature to one acceptable to God.
