Cough drops were made in trhe "Boiled Candy" division of Warner Lambert years ago. Companies would love you taking them as candy. But you need to consider what may happen to your teeth with that much sugar in your mouth all the time.

If your cough drop is simply a throat drop with an active ingredient such as pectin, (Luden's,etc), then it is okay to consume as needed for cough or throat irritation.

If your cough drop contains a cough suppressant such as dextromethorphan (DM), then you should limit consumption to what is listed on the packaging.
