what if the dad doesn't like u and kills u for asking his daughter to marry u? and then gets a sentence again? propose now and if the dad does happen to like you, then he'll get good news when he comes out...

Depends on from which culture you come. In some cultures, marriages involve not only the partners concerned, but other members of both families as well. But generally it is good and also commonsensical to seek the approval rating of the parents of your future wife.

Depends on when her Dad is due to be released. Regardless, it might be a nice and respectful gesture to ask him first (visit with her?) and shoot the proverbial sh*t with him. Then again, what kind of a person is he or are you? Will he be prone to throw you off the front porch?

well it's good manners to wait and ask her dad, but it depends on how long he will still be in prison. if it's a year or longer dont wait but if it's 3 months or so wait. why dont you go visit him in jail and ask him. I'm shure he will be happy to speak to you. But in the end it is your dession to make.
