I'm a Catholic, and some Jehova's Witness people came to my door yesterday. They were telling me that the only religion that will get me in to heaven is their religion and that all other religions are false and harmful to follow. I want to know why they think my religion, that dates back to the time of Jesus is harmful and false, but their religion.. begun by one person in 1914 is the only religion that will get me to heaven..

If you want answers to your questions about Jehovah's Witnesses, you should ask Jehovah's Witnesses. You will get many responses here but you should keep in mind that the vast majority will be inaccurate and judgmental. Take a look at a few responses . Notice that Witnesses have been called unchristian and "weird." They have also been judged because they don't celebrate Christmas or birthdays. By that line of reasoning, Jews who don't celebrate Christmas are weird too. Does that make sense? I am sure you would agree that what is pleasing to God is determined by God alone and not by ourselves.

Why not ask Witnesses when they visit you again? Or, go to the official site at www.watchtower.org. Catholics as well as other denominations feel they are the "right religion – else why would they be a part of it? Do you not feel that Catholicism is the right religion? Don't you believe that Jesus himself introduced Catholicism? Who of us would say "No, I don't believe mine is the right religion, but I'm a part of it anyway?" How unreasonable. Here is a thought that may be new to you. If all these "Christian" denominations are worshiping the same God, and they base that worship on God's word the Bible, why is it that they are poles apart in their beliefs and practices? It is vital that we make sure that our way of worship is pleasing to God and not just ourselves.

First, before making a dumb question, you really should invite some witnesses over for a talk to get your facts rights. Only those Born Again go to heaven, as most religions teach. They weren't started in 1914, that is when they calculated, based on the Bible, the beginning of the "SIGNS" of the second presence of Christ would begin, with "Wars and Rumors of Wars". WWI started in 1914. Yes, many assumed, like most of Christendom does, that with the second presence of Christ is the advent of Armageddon, just as the Jews believe it will happen when the Messiah comes the first time, but at the time they also believe in celebrating Christmas. The beliefs were not the result of one person, but of many, all reading the King James and submitting their opinions.

Now, try studying with the JWs so that you can make a good argument the next time.

Matthew 5:11 Happy are you when people reproach YOU and persecute YOU and lyingly say every sort of wicked thing against you for my sake.

I have had so many of these 'wicked things said against me' because I chose to study with JWs...even my family were....and so Jesus words became true:
Matthew 10:34-39 - "Do not think I came to put peace upon the earth...I came to cause division, with a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a young wife against her mother-in-law. Indeed, a man’s enemies will be persons of his own household.

People will say that JWs are a cult, that they are this and that without really knowing that these people are the very ones who follow the government laws very well, are good neighbors, loving parents....in the extent that a family member is disfellowed, certain disciplines are excuted for the good of that person but people say that it is not right which is actually the other way around.

From experience I know, that they are the ones Jesus spoke of..."By this all will know that you are my disciples," Jesus said, "if you have love among yourselves." (John 13:35)

I am an asian here in Austria, I am considered as 'outsider' and you get that treatment most of the time....even my kids. But the JWs never discriminated anyone....the very first time I attended a meeting in the kingdom hall, I saw different kinds of people who all smiled at me, Africans, Indians, Austrians, Americans as well...

My 2nd kid is very sickly and every time he gets to the hospital, these people you call a cult comes over and help us with taking care of our younger kid, now 9 months old...that is why I believe a paradise world is possible for such kind of people.

Jehovah's Witnesses have the true religion. They are Christian (of course), but they are unique for their rejection of paganism's, use of God's personal name, and global preaching by every active adherent. No other religious organization can claim such purity of worship.

These facts about Jehovah's Witnesses are perhaps relevant to this question. The more one compares this Christian religion with others, the more remarkable it is shown to be.

1. Jehovah's Witnesses have no paid clergy. Yet they remain tightly organized with more than 6.5 million active Jehovah's Witness preachers (about 16 million associate themselves with the religion). Even fulltime preachers and workers at their branch offices are unpaid volunteers.

2. There is no elite class among Jehovah's Witnesses. Even the few 'anointed' among them enjoy no special privileges in their congregations on earth. An anointed person (one of those relative

LDS and JW's are no longer the comparable, yet we do have missionaries. My suggestion to you: discover out WHY your MIL needs your baby raised LDS. See what the church is all approximately... in case you like that infant perpetually, then you definately could have it in the process the gospel. households are perpetually, yet purely in the process the entire gospel of Jesus Christ. No different church preaches or claims such, because of the fact no different church has the divine authority - the Priesthood - to bind households together perpetually. some individuals of the church are "homophobic" some are no longer. we don't think that "gay" something is okay, we do in spite of the incontrovertible fact that have self assurance each and every person, race, faith, despite, are little ones of God and could be taken care of so. we don't settle for the concept individuals with those tendancies have been born "gay" or that they can't stay a life with out performing upon those emotions. it incredibly is their option to accomplish that. we adore them and desire the advantages the gospel brings to be upon them besides as all people else. we won't be able to in spite of the incontrovertible fact that, stand idly by skill of and settle for the strikes as ok. God has forbid those practices and condemnation will come to those that do no longer repent...we adore you, have not got something against them. purely what they choose to do. the main distinction i'd say is that we've self assurance God is the comparable the day gone by, right this moment and perpetually - that He nonetheless calls prophets to steer His church, purely as He has because of the fact the time of Adam. additionally, the Priesthood authority. My husband can actually hint his priesthood lineage back to Jesus Christ. As can another priesthood holder. It got here from the Savior, handed down by using generations by skill of one that held the priesthood additionally. you will desire to enhance the infant as you notice extra healthful. purely understand that there is extra to the gospel than "purely" the Bible.

a Jehovah Witness would never tell you that. only 144,000 of anointed will go to heaven. it is in Revelation in the king james bible also. it also tells you the the meek shall inherit the earth. God never changed his mind. also our religion did not start in 1914. they are not Jehovah Witnesses, they are saying lies about us. also people will say we are brainwashed or a cult. a cult worships mere man and lives together. we live in our own homes in 235 lands. we have free will. we pay bills and work. if we where a cult, we would never be around other people and work together with other people. so that is a lie. we have families, husbands/wife's and children. we follow the bible and live next door to you. if you want to learn about Jehovah Witnesses listen to one that comes to your door or go visit a kingdom hall or our website at www.watchtower.org

Jehovah's witnesses do not come to your door and tell you that their religion will get you to heaven. They tell you that God's Kingdom will make this earth a paradise. Are you sure they are JWs?

Psalms 37:11 But the meek ones themselves will possess the earth, And they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace.

Probably for the same reason why Catholics think that only Christians will get into heaven and that all other religions are false even though some of them are older than Christianity.

It's just a belief, faith. Jehovah Witnesses believe they're on the only right path, Catholics believe that they are the ones on the right path etc.

theres no certain religion that will get you into heaven, if you believe you shall have everlasting life, that doesnt say jehova witness only. for one type of religion saying they will go to heaven, and you wont, is judging, the only judge is god. so i wouldnt worry, you do believe thats what matters and thats from the bible, i'm not judging, just giving some insight on the truth. god bless

The JWs do many things right. Unfortunately like many other denominations they think they are the only ones going to heaven. Read your Bible (unfortunately reading the Bible is not encouraged in the RC church) and you will find there are no denominations mentioned not even the Catholics in Rome are mentioned. While it is true the Roman Catholic church had an early beginning you might want to check out the history of the Episcopalians b4 you decide who was first.

What the JWs have done and apparently you have not is to study scripture. Pray and read. There are RC Christians and there are JW Christians but neither group is 100% Christian. You know them by their fruits. Find someone who has fruits and has studied the Word and ask them to help you.

If there is not a point in your life where there was no Holy Spirit inside you and then you reached out to God and got filled, then you may have something to worry about. There are probably people in your church who have experienced this. They will be the ones who are baring fruit. Seek these out, pray read your Bible and be saved.
