Any herpetologist or competent E.R. in a hospital close by familiar with spider and snake bites.

Go to the doctor and get it checked out, some spider bites can cause infections which need antibiotics or other treatments. I had a horrible spider bite on my arm from a really weird "fuzzy looking" spider (wasn't a tarantula) that caused my whole lower arm to swell, had a huge red area and actually caused me to have cellutitis. It was so painful, and made me feel awful. I had to be on very strong antibiotics and I went to the Dr the very next day.

I sure wish I had known what doctor to see back in July. Something bit me on arm on the inside of the elbow (must have been a spider, while I was asleep). By 11 am I had a raised swollen red and very itchy spot. By 3 pm I was exhausted and had to go home and go to bed. I took anti-histamines and Advil and slept. Next day the inflamed, itchy, swollen area reached all the way to my wrist.

I went to my internist who probed the initial site looking for a stinger and put me on steroids and antibiotics. The swelling finally went down about three days later. I was left with a hard and sometimes itchy scar, that was raised and about the size of a small pea.

Three months later I was at a dermatologist for another issue and they shot it with cortisone. (It still itched). That shot caused the bump to go down.

So six months later I merely have a small red scar, that at times, still itches!

Good luck with your bite.
