best way depends on u. u have to figure out ur best way. some ppl learn better reciting some learn by writing. the most important thing is concentration and it happens when u r mentally prepared and the environment is free from distractions.
usually one should choose a place rather a corner and should always study there. its better to associate a object with studing ritual like a cap or scarf. use it only when u r studing so that every one around u understands that u r studing & u remain in focus too. let the time of studing be same for everyday, u can choose it depending on ur enerylevel during the day.

i think this will do, please give details about ur specific needs.

Everyone has their own way of studying. You need to find one which suits you.
Writing notes such as in a brainstorm/spider diagram format may help. Maybe you'd prefer bullet points.
Some can study by just reading over notes.
Others need to re-write notes over and over in order to remember them.
You could try flashcards with a word on one side and the definition on the other and test yourself that way.
Another way would be finding questions from books etc related to the topic you're studying and answering them.
If you have some subjects recorded you can listen to them and learn as some people are best at listening in order for them to learn.
Others are more practical and so actually need to do something themselves to learn e.g. cut and stick to create links which help you rememebr things.
Some find that if they prefer learning from the internet compared to books.

All in all there are so many methods. Give some of them a try, maybe you'll find the best one thats right for you.

Hope this helps.

Find a quiet spot [No TV or Radio]. Review the objectives of the material, review your notes covering the objectives, find parallels to the objectives [e.g. if the war of 1812 was caused by x, see if x was also a political cause]
