Sweet heart you can afford a girl friend. Poor is nothing to do with it. Love is rich. And rich is love. So go out there and get you a good girl and have a lot of child's.

Hopefully she isn't so shallow as to need to be "afforded". If she proves to be materialistically high maintenance then you need to express your love elsewhere. It would be futile for you to try.
On the other hand, if she sees that you are sincere and that you truly do love her then that makes you the richest man in the universe. If she can accept and appreciate your love for all it's real meaning then you have given her a gift that is more precious and everlasting then anything that money could ever buy. She, in turn, will be endowed and blessed beyond her wildest dreams and imagination.

Strange how that works. If they feel shortchanged. They look for someone with a fatter cheque. Don`t spend your savings to impress someone. They don`t stick around long. Start a company together. More money. Equal work equal pay. Let her buy whatever she wants with her half.

If she is love with you, it should not matter. If it does, she is not into you and just things and you are better off without her. Love can motivate a man to do something great with his life even when he didn't know he had that greatness in him. (Good example, John Mellencamp...ok, he ditched the woman that believed in him, but that was his loss, not hers!)

it makes me laugh that people say
having a girlfriend doesn't cost you money...
if you're in a really bad economical situation
you can always split things with your gf when you go out.
but it depends if she'll actually go for that.
most girls want to be taken out all the time, and
that can be pretty expensive..
if you really want to keep her happy you need to find
things that she enjoys to do that are free.
like picnics, painting, or visiting parks..
