Why is it if I go to my Local Authority's Housing Department and tell them that I am sharing a 1 bedroom apartment with my 8 year old daughter and 12 year old son, I am given priotity for re housing!!

Yet I go to a travel agent to book a holiday and they charge me extra for under occupancy?

Lets be honest, we work hard all year round and pay thousands of pounds for a one or two weeks holidays, for a typical family of 4 to share cramped conditions in a one bedroomed apartment!

you must get paid well if you can afford to spend thousands on a yearly holiday. I couldnt afford to have a holiday in 2006.

We must have always been lucky, when we have booked an apartment we have had 1 double bedroom and a bed settee in the lounge.

I do sympathise with you but it works at the other end of the scale as well, why do single travellers have to pay a supplement, but then get allocated a room, usually smaller than average and always either at the top of the hotel, or at the back.

It is a shame that more people don't protest - not to the travel agents but to the tour operators - all it would take is for everyone like you to boycott these holidays for just one year at the same time and people would start listening

Good luck for your future hols

i work in travel and we get asked this question a lot.
Holiday companies charge under occupancy when booking holidays in advance. It's usually so they can get your initial interest in the holiday with the basic cost price and then bump it up.
It works most of the time because people get excited about the holiday and end up paying it.
It's really wrong but they're nothing us travel agents can do about it.

Holiday's are usually considered as extracurricular, but it's very important that children have enough room to live... I hope I am understanding the question correctly...

We are all entitled to a good vacation, but most of us are lacking right now thanks to George Wanker Bush who is ruining the world for the benefit of his friends and family... The sad truth is that the average working person is working harder and longer now and the rich are doing nothing and getting millions richer by the month.

The good news is that after everything that's happened in the last few years there isn't a chance in hell that anyone who Bush knows will get elected again.

seaside landladies are there to make profit. All Blackpool landladies have an operation where they take out her heart and substitute a blue brick hanging on a bit of string.
