Jesus died for all of our sins and want us to live with him in Heaven and all He asks of us is to believe with your whole heart and soul that He is the Son of the living God and that he died for our sins. He also wants us to so if aloud. He loves you and doesn't want you to be lost. Read your Bible and pray. He loves YOU!!!!!!!

HI there, I appreciate what you're saying and I agree. But do not forget that a believer is asked to put their faith into action, this is why Jesus said "Not everybody who cries Lord Lord will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but those that do the will of my Father".

This is why we have the ten commandments. "IF you love me, you will keep my commandments". So let us not be fooled into believing that all we need do is believe, as even the Devils do likewise and they tremble".

"work out thou salvation in fear and trembling". IN other words, it would be very foolish for one to take Christ's crucifixion for granted as an automatic free ride into Heaven, without any conviction on our part to live as we were told to live.

Both are necessary. Though we fall and sin, we get up, repent and keep going. The road to heaven is narrow and few who are who find it.

I know he does. But we can't go round telling people Jesus is coming soon...the bible clearly says that a thousand years is as a second to God, and vice versa (or something to that effect). So the second coming may be tomorrow or in ten thousand years. Time as we know it exists only on this earth to enable us to function, after death there is a completly different kind of 'time'. I understand all you say about being 'lost' etc., and I think so many people in UK are nowadays, but although I'm a Christian I know plenty of lovely people who are not Christians (and some who even say they are athiests) but because of the good, unselfish lives they lead will probably get to heaven before me! I must say though that after searching and studying different beliefs for decades (I started at 15 with spiritualism, buddhism and so on!) I have come to the conclusion that the Christian faith, when not abused and misunderstood (as it is as there are so many fanatics out there scaring good people AWAY from Christ), it is really the best way to live. Read the bible and non dogmatic books which can help you understand it - because there is so much wisdom there which is still very very relative today.

I just kind of look and them and really not try to debate what they believe. The best thing I think to do or say is express your own beliefs and why you believe it. Like you did in your question. Hopefully the person you're talking to will take what you've said to heart and prayerfully make changes in their life or at least give things a second thought. I also think some of these people are passive aggressive and afraid to make a commitment on any one thing to believe in. So they justify believing in many different ideaologies to cover all their bases thinking that if not all roads lead to maybe they'll get lucky and choose the right path. That is not how it works though. There is only one road as far as I'm concerned and that is with Jesus, The Christ. Many are called few are chosen.

Are you telling me that you came to know this only now? I can't believe it. Bible has always been out there, and you found it out only now?????

Clive has stated "JC (if he existed) was one of millions of people throughout history who was executed for his beliefs, why was his sacrifice more important than the others?"
Allow me let you know that Jesus, who was the Son of God, was made to suffer like man and was resurrected on the third day and ascended into Heaven
Well not many would manage to be resurrected, would they?

Someone else has stated that it was not Jesus but another in his image that was crucified and in the dark the mistake was not realised.
But to what point? The man did not rise on the third day,did he? The whole point of Jesus dying and being resurrected is to show that anyone who believes in God through Jesus will not die but live. Besides,do you think God would allow an innocent man to be tortured and crucified? And God decided to let Jesus die, though he was His son, because He was willing to let His own Son die for the sake of the whole humanity. "For God so loved the world" See?

Scientific reasearch has proven that at birth if you are told from everyone that you are the "son of god" you will start to believe it and act like it is true. A man called Jesus was told this so he started to believe it. And what REAL evidence do you have to support that there is a jesus anyway? A few aincent books written by monks to make the people afraid to go to hell and pay the church? Come on, THEY LIED TO MAKE MONEY! People really believed that if they did not pay the church they will go to hell. And there is no such thing as hell, maybe heaven, but not hell!!!!!!!!

PS: Jesus was jewish, then why do some people hate the jews?

Matthew 7:6
Do not give what is holy to the dogs;
Nor cast your pearls before swine,
lest they trample them under their feet,
and turn and tear you in pieces.

Psalm 5:5
The boastful shall not stand in Your sight;
You hate all workers of iniquity.

Ephesians 2:8-9
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.

John 10:15
"As the Father knows Me, even so I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep."

The questioner cannot make you believe or disbelieve anything but please try and make an effort to respect others when choosing to answer a question. I am reminding myself at the same time also. Just as I choose to use an old fashioned mop vs today's advertised choice I don't curse my TV out, throw it out the window, and phone complaints in because I don't agree with working to waste money. Lot's of cursing going on here and I'm not referring to the question asked.

I want you to know that you are a sad and lonely individual who is being mocked at every turn. I have read the bible and I am an atheist because of that fact not in spite of it. How can a sensible human being truelly believe that there is truth in something that contains so much contradiction. Oh sorry I think I've just answered my own question
