Homosexual marriage is just not right and sure as heck not Christian. There are sooo many places in the Bible that speak against homosexuality yet people insist on getting married in Christian church.

I am against gay marriage altogether. I mean what is next? Marriage to animals? Yea we say gross now, but 100years ago everyone said "gross" to gay marriage. The line must be drawn somewhere.
If people want to be homosexual that is fine and i won't say anything . It has existed, as has beastiality for many many years. They should be able to get jobs, make friends like anyone else. But for heaven sakes...WHy marriage??????????

Homosexual marriage hasn't "Mortally Wounded" anything. It is possible that the homophobia that has been festering in many churches will be terminal.

Homophobia weakens the church. This whole debate has convinced many members of churches that homosexuality is a major theme of Christianity (There are something like seven verses in the Bible, none spoken by Jesus.)

How long can a faith exist when they allow the main themes, forgiveness and being forgiven, to be eclipsed by a disdain for 5-10% of God's children?

It would be great if we never found out.

Big issues have always divided churches. The most recent is the issue of slavery and civil rights for minorities divided the Baptists, Methodists and Latter Day Saints.

History always repeats itself, even if the players are different.

No, it's merely exposed some divisions in opinion and those who would like to exploit those divisions to further their own political agendas. Churches, like other human institutions, are full of politically ambitious individuals.

Political ambition can result in mortal wounds (ask Saddam - or Julius Caesar for that matter).

I strongly believe when taken in context the society, the times... the reason homosexuality is so prevelanty attacked in the bible??? The aristocracy was likely out of control having sex with man and beat alike at all turns. AND they needed the commoners to fornicate and reproduce so they could fight their ridiculous wars. They had to cultivate masses of young men so they could marh into the enemy and die by the hundres/thousands.

properly i liked you taking the time to make us experience much less offended. i can accept as true with you and say that announcing gay is extremely much less offensive than announcing gay. yet in my opinion i surely do no longer care. i'm happy with gay, homo, queer, notwithstanding. because of the fact its who i'm. i'm happy with who i'm. So it would not offend me while somebody calls me gay, homo, or queer. It does get slightly extra offensive while somebody calls me a fag. because of the fact it form of feels that factor era fag is used in the direction of flamoyant gays and im far from that. yet interior the top i wont make a great deal approximately it. I do understand you factor and its very exciting because of the fact it happens each and every of the time. yet there are distinctive type of gays and its loopy yet there remains discrimination in the LGBT community. So i want to assert thank you for taking the time to absolutely ask us what we felt grew to become into superb.
