ok, usually i would look up any spelling queries using www.dictionary.com and be satisfied with that, but i am still being told that im spelling this wrong !!

I am spelling it like this .........INDEFINITELY

but i keep getting told by everyone that the correct spelling is INDEFINATELY

as far as i can see there is no spelling of INDEFINATELY in the dictionary that i can find, although there are alot of web pages with it spelt like that

You are spelling it correctly. Even phonetically, it is correct. The root word is definite. I will be hard pressed to find the other spelling as to my knowledge it does not exist.

That's got to be the most mis-spelled word in English language. You're right and they're all wrong.

THE BEST IDEA IS TO GO TO EXCEL AND TYPE ANY WORD AND RIGHT CLICK ON THIS WORD AND IT WILL SAY IT IS CORRECT OR WRONG.
JUST TRY IT.
OR
GO TO GOOGLE AND TYPE THIS WORD IF IT COMES THEN IT IS CORRECT,BUT IF IT DOES NOT COME THEN IT IS WRONG AND IT WILL SHOW THE CORRECT SPELLING.
