women always say thay dont care what a man looks like to some extent, but do women care what there children look like, from what i hear, read, from them aparantly not, for example im not braging but im a pretty fit built guy, buy nature not buy working out, my ex dumped me and married, lets say a guy thats not so flash although he has a good personality, and i hate to say it but here kids are, lets say, look i have to say it, there ugly and dum, my kids on the other hand, are cute and smart, remember im only using me as an example, im not putting people down, So are women to dumb to realise what there kids will be, or do thay just not care,,,,,.

Nowadays I'm not so sure but I turned down a very smart man that already had a Doctorate because he was short, ugly and arrogant. I especially didn't want my kids to look like him AT ALL! So eventually he annoyed me do much that I told him. When I got in a situation that I needed help -he came but ready to capitalize and that of course nailed the last nail -I totally disrespected him for his arrogance and willingness to take advantage and start dictating his expectations for 'helping me'. He even wanted to marry me so I said "no". He now has five or so published books on religion but the main problem was he was African and I was afraid I would have to live in Africa which I think he now resides. My kids are intelligent and beautiful and I have no regrets for letting someone who "has a lot going for him" make me not follow my heart and lower my standards. Looks are not what I always think about when it comes to love, more importantly it depends on what is important to a woman. Mine is how a man makes me feel and whats going on in his heart and life. Looks are good and they do attract the eye first but they will change. But wisdom, and honor brings security for a lifetime.

For one thing, YOUR kids are the ones you call beautiful and smart, therefore for all we know you could just be biased and blinded to the good traits of the other father.
Well, of course women care about what genes will be passed on to their kids, just like they care to a certain extent what their lover looks like. But if they love a person enough and believe that he can be a good husband and a good father, then it won't matter as much what her kids will look like, as long as he loves them.
Which do you think a mother would prefer: a husband who's a loving father to their not so modelesque kids or a husband who gave her gorgeous children but will leave her to take care of them?
When it comes down to it, personality and character really is the key.

As far as genes, human beings unconsciously look for certain genetic signals. Physical, emotional and mental characteristics are evaluated without us really knowing it. That's nature. Nothing to worry about or try to change. We're animals no animal can control this.
No, you're not putting people down by calling their kids "ugly and dum" (I bet that they'd really appreciate it if you shared this nugget of wisdom with them). You misspelled dumb, by the way, which is so awesomely ironic.
Also, your ego is freakin' huge. You see yourself as some sort of genetic superman yet your grammar and spelling are atrocious. Sounds like you're still mad that your ex left you and found a man, while not as amazingly spectacular as you, fits her much better than you did. Don't underrate the power of a good personality, especially when a woman grows out of dating egotistical idiots and looks for a mature man to build a life with.

Okay most women would say no they don't care about the genes because the truth is when a woman looks at her child she sees only beauty. Hence the expespression a face only a mother could love. It doesn't matter what u or I see when looking at someone else kid or husband wife because they see something different entirely.
So no I don't think women care about a man's genes so to speak.

It all depends on the women, but genes are not everything, remember the environment plays a big role too. Kids that are smart because they have a good home environment with a parent or parents have care about helping them get a head not the genes of the parent

It depends on the type of person some ladies like good fit men because they are cute and have a good personalities while others maybe marry for just the money and many other things, but I think that a lot of ladies do think about the appearance of their child too, that is why they don't just marry anyone.

I'm going to be honest- i have to be attracted to a guy that I'm going to have kids with and of course i want him to have a healthy set of genes. So yes, women are going to care- we want our "offspring" to be healthy and beautiful. On the other hand there is something called... "a mothers love" no child will ever be ugly to their mother.

I think human being unconsciously trying to pick out the best gene among their potential partners... however, there are also gene theory about if the two human beings have extremly different gene codes(ie: not so good looking guy with very pretty lady), their children will turn out to be more than average ( look, intelligent..etc).. so i would say we all try to seek out people who have very different gene than ourselves, so our chidlren will be more resistant to different kind of diseases.. I dont think it has to do with intelectual ability of individual

Well taking the way of your discussion I am not surprised she left you! You sound like a quite unpleasant person!
And if you really believe that the looks have anything what so ever to do with the intellect, I am truly sorry for you!
