Depends on age and society, because your children are part of the wider society. Remember that!

Fathers should be with sons and mother with daughters when doing so, and only when there's no other option -- communal bathroom after a swim in the pool, workout at the gym. I actually find it kind of sick if they were to do that otherwise. I remember my elder brother and sister who invited me to join them in their baths when I was little, and now that I'm in my 20s, I think these people were child molestors and made use of an innocent small boy (me) to make them feel powerful.

Children should learn early to have their privacy and to respect other people's privacy. I don't think any parent should take a bath with a child.

By privacy, I do not mean that a young child should be left alone in the bathtub. But I have a friend who "gives" her 9 year old son a bath and washes his hair. I often wondered if she was still going to be giving him baths when he was 12.

People are overly sensitive over something that isn't even happening. I think people have sick and twisted minds. I don't think anything is wrong with young children taking baths with their parents. I acted a mom to my god son for the first 4 years of his life and there were many occasions when I would be in the bathtub minding my own business and he would jump his little stankin butt right in the tub with me. This was not perverted this was just a child wanting to wash up with his "mommy". I wouldn't dare allow him to wash up with me now because he is too old (5) and he wouldn't even try that anymore. As long as you know that you aren't doing anything wrong with your child then who cares what the world thinks.

First of all it depends on the age of the child.. Like so many things now days people take things to extreme. People try so hard to PC or diveristied that it swings the penduleum to the extreme in the other direction. It's a shame that something as simple and innocent as taking a bath with your child can be percieved the wrong way. Those are the people that think taking naked pictures of your baby is child porn. Shame on you people!!!

How 'PC' have we become?

Up to a certain age, maybe 4-5 i think there is no harm.

Society has made people very wary, especially men! My niece is 3, society has made me feel uncomfortable when she asks me to take her to the toilet or bath her, she asks me but i have to get my partner to do it!

Society has cast a black veil over fathers, with them asking all the time, "am i allowed to bathe my own kids", "who is watching".

There are people out there who will take advantage of their kids, but is that not the minority?

And if we were not so politically correct, would this question not get asked??

I personally think it is ok to bath with your children.I am a proud mother to a beautiful 1 year old girl and when I'm in the bathtub with her we play and have bonding time.Their only young once and when there young it only last for a short period of time.I think it is ok to bath with your child(s) until they are 2-3, but after that then it seems kinda weird.

Both father and mother avoid taking bath with their kids. It is not good from family point of view. Father while taking bath with his daughter must see her private part of body and which is not good. It is shameful. Similarly mother taking bath with her son is equally bad and hateful. During bath the private part of mother's body and penis of her son are very sensitive. What would happen if by meeting with the boy she becomes excited. Is it correct. NOOOOOO. Such questions are a teaching effect on the mind of general public.

If the kids are little, say under three, then why not? It's not a sex thing or a bad thing...the parent can sit there and play with the little boats and ducks, put soap suds on their heads with the kids and have some fun. There's no problem with that.

Have some faith. Most people out there are good moms and dads. They love their children and wouldn't do them any harm.

Taking bath with parents is an excellent way to teach children about physical intimacy and teaching them how to be comfortable with their bodies.

It is an excellent play time for both, later in life this can graduate to swimming pool fun.

While kids are with you, make sure to wear a bathing suit, moms and dads. Wipe them up and then complete your bathing separately.

If the child is very young and both individuals feel comfortable doing so... I don't see a problem. I think a lot of people think that anytime there is nudity and a child with an adult there has to be some sort of perversion going on. It's sad... and not true.
