He is just not comfortable with the relationship that he is in. Because he knows that he used to date a girl who was your sons father girl friend. And the fact that your sons father knew the two women( You and his ex-girl friend) made him to feel so bad. So just help him to feel good. Tell him to think about only both of you. What really matters now is the things that you have in common.

It sounds complicated... tell him that it is complicated and honestly- you don't need any more complication or a reason for your son's daddy to alinate him. If it comes down to it- tell him you just can't do it.
