You can take a test up to 5 days before your period. However, the longer you wait, the more accurate it will be. It is not guaranteed accurate until 2-4 weeks AFTER your missed period. Every woman's hormones act differently and your body may produce the pregnancy hormone fast or slower than other women, so there is no way to tell when it is the best time for you to test.

Generally, the rule of thumb is to wait at LEAST until the day you should start your period, which for most women is 28 days after the first day of her last period. Use the test with your morning urine. If you get a negative test, you can retest one week later for a more accurate result. At this point you can safely assume you are not pregnant. If you miss that period as well as the next cycle, you can either retest or for safety's sake go to the doctor. There are many reasons you can miss your period, and only one of them is pregnancy. Good luck to you and I hope you get the result you are looking for...Blessings

Most tests are accurate as soon as the first day of your missed period. The best time to take it though is when you first wake up. Your first morning pee.
