its better to have a group of closely knitted friends who you know you could count on, than to know many acquaintances who only hang out with you just to have fun.
to be outgoing, you have to first overcome your shyness. be more confident. but don't force yourself into being someone you're not, it'll only make you feel confused. be yourself. hope this helps! :)

First you need to realize that you are perfectly good as yourself. I mean, if you have any reasons you put yourself down, those will help keep you shy.

For me, I needed time and experience to realize that often the popular people are the ones who feel the most ugly or are broken inside but hide it from the world. And in the end, the people you might want to hang out with are the ones who take you as you are without making you change.

In short, learn to like yourself first. You have to know that you are amazing and special and talented...and all those other good things. Then, when you believe it yourself, being more outgoing wont be so hard.

Well trying to be someone you're not may work for a short period of time, but it will never work out. Popular people like shy people too. Just because you're dhy doesn't mean you can't be friends. Simply go up to them and talk. Being outgoing isn't easy neither. Good Luck

My business teacher in college swore by a book called "How To Make Friends and Influence People" i have never read it, but according to my teacher if you want some insight into how to become more outgoing and popular - that is the book to get. good luck!

Be yourself. Since you are shy that might be to your advantage! You will seem more humble, not too stuck on yourself, or not too aggressive. Some people don't like aggressive, loud-talking people. Listen to conversations. If you can contribute to a conversation without changing the subject matter, join in. There are many shy people who need and want friends. Just join in, build some confidence in yourself, be yourself, and you'll do just fine.

If you are an introvert, that's gonna be hard to force yourself to be outgoing. But you can just start slowly with a couple of friends. n

get a small number of friends that you can feel comfortable with and you can get over being shy that way, but remember that just because others are popular doesn't mean that they are worth making friends with. you may even find that devoloping friends online that you can talk to may help - one friend of mine that was very shy got over her shyness that way.

dude, don't waste your time tyring to be friends with the "popular people." They'll totally see you trying to impress them and it's just pathetic.

Be comfortable with who you are.

If you want to be more outgoing... then do so ONLY BECAUSE it's what you want to do... not just to be friends with shallow people.
