it is when you've only met the guy for a week and he tells you he loves you just to get u into bed or to get you to forgive him. but never over used when you truly mean it and profess your love with all your heart.

thank God someone has the same question as me.but i have an answer to that. The word "i love you"is not just becoming but blas'e,overused, abused and infact maltreated especially when it is not geniune(authentic). like a man will outwardly love a woman but when the product of what they got out of love dictates he denies and abandon the one he claimed to love to bear the burden alone thereby making her a liar, prostitute, and an object of mockery in the eyes of her enemies even beloved ones.we have soured or rather injured the word love.and overused it. Of course when it is not meant. The phrase I am in love with you carries a lot more meaning and emotional connection. I tend to think that anyone can say I love you, but not everyone can say I am in love with you.

yes. The true power and meaning behind the words have been diluted to being a cheap and easy pick up line to get into someones pants.

Over used? I don't think so. Even if you think it's not meant some of the time (boring?) think aboout the rest of the time when it truly is meant. I tell my husband and my children that I love them every single day.

Apparently it is, especially by 14 year olds who ask relationship questions on Yahoo! Answers.

yes i would believe so. The more it is used as a common phrase in a relationship then the less it means. I think its something that should be said periodically with practical meaning when said.

Yep, and its really stupid. It seems like it doesnt matter anymore, people use I love you for everything. Used to be something special now its like "would you like fries with that?" "why yes i would and oh by the way I LOVE YOU" it retarded.

its a good feeling when someone's telling you I LOVE YOU With all their hearts. It will not be over used if it is used properly..why will you say something which is not meant to be for the first place?

Not when it comes to family..and the ones you really love...husband,children..etc. But when I hear the little Jr. High girls yelling "I love you " to each other...well, i sometimes wanna puke. That and all of that fake hugging...it makes me want to scream!
