The prophet told us in hadith that God literally wrote the Torah with his own hands. He also told us that the Torah was revealed during the 6th night of the month of Ramadan, while the Quran was revealed during the 24th night of the month of Ramadan. The Torah was given to Moses, The Quran to Muhammad. Read Isaiah 29:12 "And the book will be delivered to him who cannot read, and it will be said to him read and he will say I cannot read" This is exactly what the prophet pbuh said in The cave of hiraa when he was commanded by Gabriel to read, he said "I cannot read". The Quran has another name which is called "Al kitaab" this is translated as "The book" which is the exact phrase given in Isaiah. The Torah is book that was intended only for the Bani Israel or the Tribe of Israel. The Quran is sent for all of mankind.

The Torah in it's original form was the Holy Book given to Prophet Moses (peace be upon him) by Almighty God for the Jewish people. It contains commandments, guidelines and prophecies from God. It was sent down to be a guide for a limited period of time for a limited number of people (i.e. The Jews). Over time it has been altered and is no longer in it's 100% original form, although much of it is.
The Qur'an is entirely in it's original form today and was given to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) for all of humanity until the end of time. God promised to protect the Qur'an from corruption or tampering of any kind. It is also a book of guidance, healing, truth, prophecy and commandments for all. The essence of the book is There is Only One God. There are references in the Torah that confirm the Qur'an. The Qur'an also confirms the Torah. They are both from the same God and must be believed in by Muslims. They are both Holy Books and should be revered with the utmost respect. Those who disrespect either book will be punished severely in the afterlife.

The Torah was given by God to Prophet Moses (peace be upon him) and the Quran to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family). Both holy books carry the same message that is monotheism ie the worship of the one and only God. This same message rings through the ages in all holy scriptures from the time of prophet Adam till the seal of the prophets, Muhammad. Except for the Quran all other scriptures suffer at the hands of man who tamper and twist the teachings of the prophets for their own interests and selfish gains.

The difference is that the Torah was the first reveleation and the Qu'ran is the last and final revelation.
[002.097] Say (O Muhammad [Peace Be Upon Him]): "Whoever is an enemy to Jibrâîl (Gabriel) (let him die in his fury), for indeed he has brought it (this Qur'ân) down to your heart by God's Permission, confirming what came before it [i.e. the Taurât (Torah) and the Injîl (Gospel)] and guidance and glad tidings for the believers.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
[003:001] Alif-Lâm-Mîm.
[These letters are one of the miracles of the Qur'ân, and none but God (Alone) knows their meanings.]
[003:002] God! Lâ ilahâ illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), Al-Hayyuul-Qayyum (the Ever Living, the One Who sustains and protects all that exists).
[003:003] It is He Who has sent down the Book (the Qur'ân) to you (Muhammad [sal-Godu 'alayhi wa sallam]) with truth, confirming what came before it. And He sent down the Taurât (Torah) and the Injîl (Gospel),
[003:004] Aforetime, as a guidance to mankind. And He sent down the Criterion [of judgement between right and wrong (this Qur'ân)]. Truly, those who disbelieve in the Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of God, for them there is a severe torment; and God is All-Mighty, All-Able of Retribution.
[003:005] Truly, nothing is hidden from God, in the earth or in the heaven.
[003:006] He it is Who shapes you in the wombs as He wills. Lâ ilâha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.
Peace Be With You
I recommend reading the Qu'ran, it will be the best thing you have ever done in your life.
